Corporate Communications Manager

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Public Affairs/Corporate Communications Department is looking for a Corporate Communications Manager.  The position is located in Richmond, VA.  In this role, the successful candidate acts as team leader, information gatekeeper, editor and writer for the Intranet and public website. To that end, supervises a multimedia/graphics team; coordinates and edits the flow of content from authors throughout the Bank and produces copy for the Intranet; in collaboration with IT, oversees the evolution of the internal/external websites utilizing new technologies to propose and implement enhancements; incorporates best practices, preserves the Bank’s identity and credibility and promotes/advocates its core values.  In addition, coordinates and collaborates with content providers, web and application developers and server support groups from other Federal Reserve Banks.  Serves a critical role in crisis communications.

Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Directs and manages the day-to-day activities of internal/external web communications, including production, workflow and posting by completing the following:

    • Reviewing and editing web content from content providers throughout the Bank;
       
    • Maintaining and reinforcing style guidelines and “best practices” standards;
       
    • Ensuring that all communication supports Bank goals and objectives;
       
    • Recasting print publications for the web;
       
    • Coordinating all web-related communications requests;
       
    • Serving as consultant to content providers, colleagues, clients throughout the Bank and senior executives;
       
    • Acting in designated critical role for crisis communications.
  • Leads/manages/supervises a multimedia/graphics team that designs and posts content, coordinates workflow and, in collaboration with IT, supports the evolution of the websites; ensures their training, education and professional growth and guides their efforts to meet department objectives.
     
  • Serves as a content provider by researching, writing and clearing major stories for web publication.
     
  • Works closely with IT and client groups to ensure the quality and accessibility of the web, plans for and integrates new technology and oversees the web’s evolution into a robust medium that can address the changing communications needs of the Bank.
     
  • Edits, develops and posts web content as required.

SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, mass communications, public relations or related field required.  Advanced accreditation and/or Graduate degree desired
     
  • 10 plus yeas in corporate communications, especially web communications, required.
     
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
     
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people
     
  • Demonstrated ability in managing multiple projects within scope, budget and expected timeframes and outcomes.
     
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve problems.
     
  • Strong organizational and project and management skills.
     
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal customers.
     
  • Strong experience in web content management systems.
     
  • 7+ years of HTML experience.
