The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is seeking a Graphics Designer in the Public Affairs, Corporate Communications Department. With supervisor’s guidance, provide creative visual/audio/video solutions that support the Bank’s mission, vision and goals; use the full spectrum of design and media applications to respond to clients’ needs; conceive and creating solutions that delight the client and generate additional business for the team; collaborate with writers, senior designers and web developers to provide total creative solutions for print, electronic and oral (speeches) communications; proactively engage clients with recommendations and solutions that makes it easy to do business; and serve as a model of the creative and constructive solutions provider.
Requisitions #9767 and #9768 represent 1 (one) opening. Specific job title assignment (i.e., Designer or Sr. Designer) will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications/experience.
Team with writers and web developers in corporate communications to provide total solutions (words, visuals, audio and video) to clients throughout the Bank;
Conduct creative research to most effectively respond to clients’ needs;
Produce sketches or digitally rendered creative concepts to communicate ideas to clients;
Produce sketches and maintain corporate brand identity by implementing and maintaining style guide specifications;
Able to design brochures, posters, artwork for magazines and promotional items within tight deadlines;
Visit and assess locations for potential shoots;
Working knowledge of photography and videography of both mediums (from shooting and editing to delivery of finished product);
Support other graphic team members by stepping into the role of photographer, artist or videographer to complete projects;
Monitor developments in the world of graphics (software/technology) and incorporate tools that most effectively serve the needs of the team;
Able and willing to travel as needed related to job requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Art, Graphic Design or Multimedia/Visual Communications.
3 to 5 years experience in an agency and/or corporate environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget and expected timeframes.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers.
Results and team oriented, and astute listener.
Solid design and software knowledge.
Very good eye for details.
Experienced level skill using all applications in the Adobe Creative Suite.
Working knowledge of best practices in print-to-web.
1 to 2 years experience with a professional digital camera and digital camcorder.
Experience with Final Cut Pro.
