Get your summer off to a good start with the AIGA Richmond early summer picnic!

Okay – we realize it’s on Father’s Day, so you’re welcome to bring dad along (especially if he enjoys a summer afternoon at the park)! If your dad doesn’t live nearby, or you just aren’t planning to spend the day with your dad – it’s all good! Join us for some good eats, conversation and funshine!

We’ll supply the volleyball set, the shelter, the grills and the charcoal. You bring your own drink*, something to grill and a dish to share. If the recipe for your dish has a story behind it, bring the story (and the recipe) to be included in a new AIGA Richmond book project that is in the works.

We’ll have our June board meeting and bid bon voyage to two of our most committed and respected board members: Edith Ridderhof and Lauren Kitts. We’ll hopefully meet new nominees as well!

Friends and family – including dads – are invited to attend. We’ll be at shelter 1, near the tot lot. Bryan Park also has a frisbee golf course, so if you have a set, bring it with you!

Please RSVP so we know how much charcoal to bring!

*City parks have a no alcohol policy

KimWe have one frisbee the size of a DVD and a Bocce Ball Set. We'll bring them. Can't wait to meet everyone! We have extra mustard and relish if it is needed. By people and peeps, I mean my children.

We'll be in a shelter and they aren't calling for rain... but we all know how that goes. Roy and Alyssa are bringing a crocet set but I haven't heard from anyone bringing a frisbee golf set. The frisbees are smaller that your usual plastic ones. Does anyone know if the big ones work ok?

David -- I have 5 root beers and with the cokes we could make floats!!! WooHoo!

I'll be bringing hot dogs for my people and a zesty pasta salad with fresh mozzarella to share. Oh, and my peeps' dad will be coming too! My eldest son is intrigued by the frisbee golf. Do we need a frisbee? Anyone else bringing their people? Is there a rain plan?

I'm bringing Buffalo chicken dip a.k.a Crack Dip. And dogs and burgers. I am bugging people for recipes for a local AIGA cookbook. So please bring proof of your handiwork or I'll have to email or phone ya!

I'm bringing some hot dogs to grill. Kim, you're so good being healthy. Sometimes healthy is no fun. To share, I'll bring a bag of chips and ice cream. Plus, all fathers get a free cupcake!

My plan is to bring chipotle burgers, orange tequila chicken and some super healthy (yes, I'm serious) dill shrimp salad.
