Web Development Coordinator

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Public Affairs/Corporate Communications Department is looking for a Web Development Coordinator.  The position is located in Richmond, VA.  With manager's guidance, the Web Development Coordinator serves as consultant to content providers for Bank website and intranet; assists with coordination of content packaging and publishing, including daily site updates and special projects; advises content providers on submissions to maximize benefits of the online platform and ensures that corporate standards and best practices are maintained; works closely with others on the web team and IT developers to rapidly resolve problems and recommend/implement enhancements to the functionality of sites; analyzes metrics to make recommendations for audience growth; keeps abreast of trends in technology and content management and recommends ways to cost effectively address online communications needs.



Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • With manager's guidance, serves as consultant to content providers;
     
  • Engages Bank clients proactively and makes recommendations on combinations of content and applications that will most effectively serve their needs and the needs of site end users; creates multimedia presentations for web such as slideshows, audio slideshows and video packages to enhance user experiences;
     
  • Monitors site metrics and helps drive audience growth initiatives; creates and maintains e-newsletter lists and consults with graphics, Web and IT development team on e-newsletter strategies and best practices;
     
  • Initiates packaging and publishing of content and makes recommendations for web updates/changes; rapid responder on posting press releases, media advisories, speeches, etc., in a 24/7/365 continuous publishing environment; works with graphics to develop new or enhanced design elements and maintain design consistency; proactively works on recasting print publications for web;
     
  • Maintains editorial standards and copy edits submitted content, and ensures content conforms to Web best practices and AP style; recommends, plans and executes online presence for Bank events.;
     
  • Drafts responses to public inquiries received through site feedback forms;
     
  • Identifies problems with content management systems and other site administration tools and works with IT developers to resolve problems and improve those tools;
     
  • Monitors emerging trends in new media and multimedia production (software/technology) and incorporates tools that provide cost efficiencies while effectively serving the needs of the team and the end users;
     
  • Participates in Federal Reserve System's group dedicated to advancing Bank public and internal web sites.

SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Art, Multimedia/Visual Communications, Multimedia Journalism or Journalism/Communications with multimedia production experience.
     
  • Three to five years graphic and web design experience in an agency and/or corporate environment.
     
  • Efficient ability to multi-task.
     
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
     
  • Astute listener with a creative imagination.
     
  • Team oriented: works collaboratively with others.
     
  • Strong organizational skills.
     
  • Customer centric and deadline oriented.
